We have been using B2B since 2004. The reason we first started using it was to keep the our product files in sync with the Mill's product files(cost and descriptions). After we were comfortable with those results we began receiving the mill invoices. Invoices are imported in our system. They are then matched against POs and receiving to verify cost and quantity. That is done internally by the programs in our computer. We then receive a list of exception which need to be researched. After about 3 or 4 weeks our AP person said she no longer needed the hard copy from the mill. It greatly reduced the amount of mail we needed to sort in the mornings. I don't recall missing any discounts either. Any problems we had were fixed by either our software company (CDMS), VENCOM or the mill. I wish all the mills were supplying us information via B2B.
